The Farm.
Our Family, Our History.
Working Farm.
The Beckendorff family’s rich heritage in agriculture began in the late 1880s, with Robert Beckendorff farming cotton first, followed by corn, peanuts and rice.
Blake, a fourth-generation farmer, currently farms over 36 varieties of heirloom tomatoes, squash, onions, zucchini, eggplant, peppers and numerous herbs. Blake now sells his produce to local restaurants (Pearl and Vine of Katy, Brennans of Houston and Potente of Houston). Blake’s tomatoes have become so popular in the area that Beckendorff Farms hosts an annual tomato plant sale. We love getting to see so many of our couples that come back to see us. In the summer, we a have weekly produce sale.
It’s hard to put into words how truly rewarding these events have been for us. Every tomato that’s picked, loaded into the barn and sold we do it together. It’s truly become a family affair. Blake, his wife Stacey, and his children Miles, Townes and Hundley are the newest visionaries who are nurturing the same land that has been in the family for generations.
